Starting August 10th, we accept United Healthcare commercial plans — no need to wait, you can get set up now.

A few days ago we shared that we’d started accepting Aetna, with more carriers on the way. We’re glad to say the next one is done: we’ve completed contract negotiations with United Healthcare, and coverage for commercial plans goes into effect August 10th.

WHAT’S NEW: UNITED HEALTHCARE COMMERCIAL PLANS

Beginning August 10th, if you have a United Healthcare commercial plan, you can use your benefits at Dawnbreaker Health the same way you would with any in-network provider. We’ll submit your visit to insurance, and you’ll typically only owe your copay, coinsurance, or deductible, depending on your plan.

You don’t have to wait until the 10th to get started — go ahead and book in advance, let us know you’re on United, and we’ll have your eligibility verified so you’re ready to go the moment the effective date hits.

A NOTE ON MEDICARE ADVANTAGE

As with Aetna, we are not accepting Medicare Advantage plans, including UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage.

CIGNA AND BLUECARD BCBS ARE STILL IN PROGRESS

Aetna and United are done. Cigna and BlueCard BCBS (Blue Cross Blue Shield plans nationwide) are next, and we’ll announce each as it’s finalized.

IF YOU’RE NOT ON AETNA OR UNITED YET

Nothing changes for you today, and you still have options:

• Self-pay remains available to everyone, insured or not for $49.99 per 20 minutes
• PPO plans can often still be submitted for out-of-network reimbursement, just as before.
• Labs, imaging, and prescriptions can typically still go through your existing insurance, regardless of which plan you carry.
