When to go to the ER or call 911
Seek emergency care immediately for symptoms like:
- Chest pain/pressure, severe shortness of breath, or trouble breathing
- Signs of stroke (face drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulty)
- Severe allergic reaction (swelling of lips/tongue/throat, trouble breathing)
- Uncontrolled bleeding, major injury, or severe burns
- New confusion, fainting, seizures, or sudden severe weakness
- Severe abdominal pain with stiffness or persistent vomiting
- Suicidal thoughts with intent/plan, or inability to stay safe
